Alfred "Pee Wee" Ellis joined the James Brown Revue in 1965 and began arranging with James Brown right away; he co-wrote the hits "Cold Sweat" and "Say It Loud - I'm Black and I'm Proud". In the 90's he started to release his own albums. Ridin Mighty High released in 2000 is essentially a gospel album and has been Pee Wee's most successful album yet.
