Puerto Rican-born David Sanchez has been nominated for Grammy at least 4 times, in 2005 he finally earned the award with his album "Coral" winning the Latin Grammy for “Best Instrumental Album". "Cultural survival" is his latest release recording as a quartet with guitarist Lage Lund, bassist Orlando LeFleming, and drummer Henry Cole. David Sanchez plays straight ahead jazz, with African, Afro-Cuban and Caribbean influences.
