Tony Monaco - East To West (2006)

Photobucket

Saw his performance with Harvey Mason and Pat Martino and very much impressed with his mastery of the Hammond organ. Attractive and so immersed. Flanked by guitarist Bruce Forman (known for his work on the soundtrack of Clint Eastwood’s Million Dollar Baby), drummer Adam Nussbaum, and Byron Rooker on Saxophone, this is his sixth recordings and may well be his finest yet.

Nice one BEEQ!

Hey great blog by the way. This my first time here, I must say that you've assembled a really top-notch and diverse selection of music.

I'm a Hammond B3 freak, so if it’s all right, I’m going to dig through some of the organ recordings here!

Thanks for sharing.

Many thanks for this one!

Not only is Tony Monaco a terrific jazz organ player, one of the best there is, but the recording quality is outstanding too. Every little nuance of the mighty organ is captured! Every drawbar settings change is very clear. Every note, from the highest frequecy to those all-important left hand walking bass lines, are captured in minute detail.

PS. For those that would like to hear Tony focus only on the blues, check out the record Fiery Blues.

Thanks again, BeeQ.
