Same as Donny McCaslin, Eric Alexander delivers a muscular tenor sound. Nightlife in Tokyo released in 2003 featured Alexander on tenor sax and Harold Mabern on piano, Ron Carter on bass, and Joe Farnsworth on drums. The album is post-bop, modern but with a classic sound.

Thanks for a great share - I'm just beginning to explore modern jazz and now I've got a little cluster of names to work my way out from.
There's some quite superb musicianship on display here, and every one of the guys who's had a namecheck is likely to see a few sales as a result as I track down their other work.
This is exactly what music-blogging is all about - sharing your knowledge and introducing people to stuff they'd otherwise completely miss... which is good for us, and better still for the musicians who gain a following who are more than happy to buy work and even better turn out to see them live.

I appreciate your comment Richard. By far I am not an expert in music and most of the artists and/or albums featured here are also new discoveries for me. It's my pleasure you can discover something new from this site. There are so many music and or artists yet to be discovered and the option is infinite ; sure I have now become a new fan for some of the sublime musicians out there for whom I wouldn't been able to know if our friends (especially in the blogosphere) do not share their knowledge.
