Phil Ranelin reunited with Wendall Harrison for the first time in 20 years to make this album (Wide Hive) and Pharoah Sanders joins them for the solo dedicated to their former friend and mentor John Coltrane (This One's for Trane). The album offers 10 original compositions, inlcuding tracks honoring Freddie Hubbard, J.J. Johnson, Horace Tapscott, John Coltrane, and Eric Dolphy.
